Jicky
Jicky is the fragrance Aimé Guerlain created in 1889, which the house presents as the first modern perfume, one of the first to use vanillin and coumarin. This amber fougère sets the freshness of a lemony lavender and an accord of bergamot, lavender and rosemary against the warmth of woods and vanilla, and blurs the line between feminine and masculine.

Aimé Guerlain created Jicky in 1889, the year the Eiffel Tower rose. By using two molecules that were new at the time, vanillin and coumarin, he opened, according to the house, modern perfumery, which no longer sought to imitate the scent of flowers but to stir an emotion.
The name Jicky
Two stories explain the name. Guerlain tells that Aimé Guerlain dedicated the fragrance to a woman he loved while studying in England; according to the other version, Jicky was the nickname of his nephew, Jacques Guerlain.
Between feminine and masculine
The house describes a fragrance that breaks down the boundary between feminine and masculine and surprises with the radical nature of its contrasts. According to Guerlain, Jicky first disconcerted women and seduced men, before being adopted by all.
Les Légendaires
Jicky is now part of the Les Légendaires collection, which Guerlain devotes to its historic creations and to love stories real or imagined. The house sells it as an eau de parfum, in the heart-stoppered bottle designed in 1912.
