Irresistible Rose Velvet by Givenchy is built around one of perfumers' favorite ingredients: rose. It must be said that rose has been a symbol of absolute femininity since the earliest days of perfumery. As proof, Queen Cleopatra was already addicted to it! This time, Givenchy goes even further and pushes its use to its most luxurious extremes. The house designs a custom-made rose, crafted from four different extracts of this plant. Irresistible Rose Velvet combines Essential rose, rosewater concentrate, Ultimate rose and Moschata rose. In turn, this queen of perfumery plants reveals its full potential and its many facets. The result is a fragrance that is at times floral, sun-kissed, sweet, green or more honeyed. The sensuality is absolute, further amplified by the soft caress of powdery iris.
The other creamy ingredients of Irresistible Rose Velvet by Givenchy
Note, however, that rose is not alone in this composition. It is further enhanced by other raw materials, each softer and more tender than the last. Patchouli is not used in the usual way. Here, it takes the form of patchouli milk, bathing the velvet rose. This brings persistence to the creation, while unfolding a delicate, milky odor. This majestic grace is further amplified by a duo of musk and sandalwood. Irresistible Rose Velvet then appears like a cottony cloud. Its sweet, sensual scent is a particular invitation to caress.
A touch of freshness and brightness to liven up the whole
Despite this extreme softness, Irresistible Rose Velvet by Givenchy does not lack pep either. It preserves a fruitier vivacity in its top notes. Indeed, these rely on the tangier breath of blackcurrant. Neroli, for its part, completes the whole and illuminates it with an additional brightness.
For variety, note that there are three other variations on the Irresistible Rose Velvet scent. The Eau de Parfum relies on a trio of rose, pear and white wood. The Eau de Toilette, for its part, is even brighter. Its rose pairs with blackcurrant and cedarwood. Finally, the Eau de Toilette Fraiche foregrounds lightness, in a blend of pink pepper, fresh rose and musk.
