Hugo Woman

Hugo Boss classifies Hugo Woman among the floral fruity fragrances. Wikiparfum places it in the floral family and cites jasmine, amber, cut grass, black tea, boysenberry, plum, mandarin, and woody notes.

Top, heart, and base

The house publishes this pyramid: in the top, boysenberry, Italian mandarin, and Himalayan red grass, which it links to adventure and escape; in the heart, sambac jasmine, black plum, iris, and a spicy black tea; in the base, amber, sandalwood, and cedar.

The notes are arranged here as follows: blackberry and mandarin in the top; sambac jasmine, plum, iris, and black tea in the heart; amber, sandalwood, and cedar in the base. The Himalayan red grass stays out of the classification.

What is not in it

The citrus, rose, peach, raspberry, vanilla, coumarin, and violet sometimes attributed to the fragrance belong to no description by the house. Leigh van den Berg nevertheless says she detects a drop of peach that the house does not name.

What the label declares

At the top of the ingredient list come alcohol, water, and fragrance. Two UV filters, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, complete it, along with an antioxidant, BHT.

Seven allergens subject to declaration appear: limonene, alpha-isomethyl ionone, geraniol, linalool, citronellol, citral, and anise alcohol. Four colorants tint the juice: a violet, a red, a yellow, and a blue.

An older version of the list also included lyral, since banned in the European Union. The current list contains none, nor any lilial.
