In order to create this daring composition, the Diesel brand chose two of the most talented perfumers, namely Annick Menardo and Thierry Wasser. Born in Cannes, Annick Menardo managed to enter the prestigious perfumery school of Versailles, ISIPCA. She was then hired at Firmenich. Annick Menardo has a modern, even avant-garde style. She is behind numerous successes such as Le Premier Parfum by Lolita Lempicka, or Kokorico by Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Born in Lausanne (Switzerland), Thierry Wasser is the official perfumer for the house of Guerlain, thus succeeding 4 generations of Guerlain perfumers. Thierry Wasser is a sensitive and discreet perfumer. While his predecessors were all named Guerlain, it was purely for his talent that Thierry Wasser was chosen to create the fragrances of such a prestigious house. Authentic and extremely talented, Thierry Wasser is behind a great many successful fragrances, such as Mon Guerlain, Shalimar Cologne, Idylle, and also Hypnôse by Lancôme.
Fuel for Life pour Elle, ultra-optimistic notes
Fuel for Life pour Elle opens with fruity notes of blackcurrant, heightened by pink pepper berry. Blackcurrant originates from Europe and has been cultivated in France since the 16th century. In the 19th century, blackcurrant was highly prized for resolving numerous health issues (fever, migraines, parasites). Currently, only 2 varieties are cultivated in France, the noir de Bourgogne and the black Down.
In perfumery, blackcurrant gives off sweet, bitter and fruity tonalities. The heart of Fuel for Life pour Elle is built around jasmine combined with indole. Indole is an organic compound with the particularity of giving off different odors depending on its state (solid or liquid). Indole is often used with jasmine to recreate a jasmine accord with a richer composition, such as an absolute. Indole gives off very floral, powerful and animalic tonalities.
Finally, the base of Fuel for Life pour Elle is meant to be very sensual, as it combines patchouli and white musks. The bottle takes up the main codes of the masculine version, Fuel for Life pour homme. Still evoking a flask, this time in a rather vintage style, the bottle displays a flat, oval shape.
