The house of Rochas was born from Marcel Rochas's passion for haute couture, but above all for perfumery. Very early on, and despite the success of his fashion creations, Marcel Rochas released his first fragrances and great successes such as Femme in 1944 or Moustache in 1949, while choosing to abandon couture in 1953.
Eau de Rochas, inspired by Marcel Rochas's peaceful stays by the water, would once again affirm the imposing status of the house of Rochas in perfumery.

Eau de Rochas was released in 1970, yet it was born well before that in the mind of the great creator Marcel Rochas. Indeed, as early as 1948, he asked the perfumer Edmond Roudnitska to compose for him a fresh fragrance that would modernize the colognes of old; the composition was formidable, yet it was still too early for it. It would resurface from the archives in 1970 thanks to the talent of the house of Rochas's official nose, Nicolas Mamounas, who brought it back to life by modernizing it. An incredible success then began for Eau de Rochas...
Indeed, the success was such that the beautiful fresh composition was declined into Eau de Rochas pour Homme in 1993, then into Eau Sensuelle in 2010. Finally, under the aegis of the great perfumer Michel Almairac, a new collection was launched in 2016, released as a limited edition each summer: the Escapades de Rochas.
The Escapades de Rochas thus took us in 2016 to the Mediterranean, in 2017 to a citrus paradise, in 2018 under tropical skies, and in 2019 to lands where fruits reign and water cools the burning woods, with Rochas's Escapade Exotique.
Fruity and aquatic notes for an Escapade Exotique like a dive into a paradisiacal island
With Escapade Exotique, the house of Rochas once again offers the cascade of intense freshness that Eau de Rochas provided, while adding to this new opus modern and precious fruity and aquatic notes.
Thus, perfumer Michel Almairac managed to preserve the beautiful orange of the original Eau de Rochas. However, he added to it a touch of blackcurrant and a note of sparkling, sugary apple, instilling energy and vitality into Escapade Exotique. At the heart, lovely jasmine brings its sun-kissed opulence, while melon and watermelon offer their sweet aquatic scents to the exotic flower.
Finally, the perfumer did not hesitate to reinforce the woody depths of the original Eau de Rochas in order to create an even greater contrast between exotic freshness and burning summer sensuality. Thus the woody notes of cedar and musk are made denser by a note of ambroxan, bringing them a new, immediate sensuality that is ultimately very representative of the sensuality reigning in tropical paradises at the far ends of the earth.
Once again, Escapade Exotique enchants us and makes us dream of vacations in the sun!
