Destin de Balmain

Published

The first prestige fragrance from Balmain Beauty, launched in 2026, Destin de Balmain is an eau de parfum by Quentin Bisch: ripe strawberry lifted with pink pepper, peony with lychee facets, a lily accord, and a base of creamy sandalwood, patchouli and Ambrexolide, in a refillable glass cube with a gold-striated cap.

Rachael Martin of Grazia finds it has the relaxed allure of a Parisienne, more modern than a classic fruity; Maryam Lieberman of W Magazine reads it as a bold, playful and electric fragrance.

What critics say

A Modern Strawberry, French-Style

Rachael Martin, beauty director of Grazia, discovered Destin de Balmain in Paris at the press launch in February 2026. She finds it unlike anything in the house’s olfactive past: fruity and floral, delicate and feminine, for her it embodies relaxed French chic.

She likes the accord of ripe strawberry and creamy sandalwood, and the rosy softness of the peony, which makes the fragrance easy to wear day to day. The earthy note of the lily, the spice and the musk give it a modernity that no traditional fruity had offered her.

A Bold, Personal Fragrance

Maryam Lieberman, writing for W Magazine, finds Destin bold and deeply personal, far from a scent designed to please the widest audience. What strikes her first is the ripe strawberry opening, which she finds playful and electric, sharpened by pink pepper.

She describes a heart of peony and lily with glints of lychee over a base of sandalwood and patchouli softened by musk, which grounds the fragrance. By the end of her test she finds it alluring and luminous, self-assured without straining for effect.
