1881 pour Femme is the eau de toilette Cerruti launched in Europe in 1995, five years after 1881 pour Homme. A woody floral built around a linen flower note, Nino Cerruti’s flower: mimosa, freesia and violet at the top, a heart of jasmine, orange blossom and chamomile, a base of sandalwood, amber and musk, in a round bottle encircled by a silver band.

Andrew recounts, on 18 January 2022, wearing 1881 pour Femme for a year believing it was a men’s fragrance, before discovering his mistake while describing the bottle to a sales assistant. He has never given it up.
He describes a yellow, powdery floral, bright and elegant, with a touch of bitterness that passes quickly. The opening blends sweet chamomile and mimosa; the heart brings together rose, powdery iris and white flowers, with no single flower dominating; the base of musk and wood stays smooth.
He finds it modern, balanced and surprisingly not very floral, enough to recommend it to men. He counts more than four hours of clear presence, with moderate projection, and notes that the fragrance has gone through numerous reformulations.
