1881 pour Femme is the eau de toilette Cerruti launched in Europe in 1995, five years after 1881 pour Homme. A woody floral built around a linen flower note, Nino Cerruti’s flower: mimosa, freesia and violet at the top, a heart of jasmine, orange blossom and chamomile, a base of sandalwood, amber and musk, in a round bottle encircled by a silver band.

Cerruti launched 1881 pour Femme in Europe in 1995. The eau de toilette gives a feminine counterpart to 1881 pour Homme, released in Europe in 1990 and in the United States in 1993; the house had already signed Nino Cerruti pour Homme in 1978 and Nino Cerruti pour Femme in 1987.

A name drawn from fabrics

The number 1881 refers to the year the Cerruti family’s textile company was founded, in Piedmont. True to the natural materials that built the house’s reputation, the fragrance features a linen flower note, presented by Osmoz as Nino Cerruti’s flower, and his alone.

Arrival in the United States

According to The Rose Sheet, the fragrance reached the United States on 15 April 1996, at Nordstrom, distributed by Parfums International.

A Givaudan-Roure composition

The encyclopaedia Perfume Intelligence attributes the composition to Claire Cain, a perfumer at Givaudan-Roure, for a fragrance developed with Elizabeth Arden.
