Bois Doré joined Van Cleef & Arpels’ Collection Extraordinaire in 2017, as a fragrance to share. Fabrice Pellegrin pairs cedar with tonka bean absolute, which he imagines as the fusion of a wood with the gleam of gold: pepper and mineral notes in the top, cedar and vanilla in the heart, tonka and white musk in the base.

Bois Doré entered the Collection Extraordinaire in 2017, the line of fragrances that Van Cleef & Arpels has devoted to noble materials since 2009. It stands out by bringing together not one but two materials: cedar and tonka bean.

Fabrice Pellegrin signed the formula. He says he imagined Bois Doré as a goldsmith’s work, the fusion of a wood with the luminosity of gold, choosing cedar for its nobility and tonka for its raw intensity, like a nugget.

A fragrance to share

The house presents it as a precious wood veiled in gold, addictive and sensual, that warms the skin, and intends it for women and men alike. Like the whole collection, it is produced under license by Interparfums, as a 75 ml eau de parfum.
