Bois Doré joined Van Cleef & Arpels’ Collection Extraordinaire in 2017, as a fragrance to share. Fabrice Pellegrin pairs cedar with tonka bean absolute, which he imagines as the fusion of a wood with the gleam of gold: pepper and mineral notes in the top, cedar and vanilla in the heart, tonka and white musk in the base.

Bois Doré uses the bottle shared by the Collection Extraordinaire, which the house wants pared-down and refined: a rectangular, vertical silhouette, cut from heavy glass, set on a solid, well-anchored base.
A black and white embossed label bears the fragrance’s name, and the initials of Van Cleef & Arpels are engraved directly into the glass wall. Bois Doré is sold as an eau de parfum, in a 75 ml bottle.
