Vanille

Since the 1970s, the house of Réminiscence has offered us its most beautiful colorful jewels as well as its most powerful, most exotic fragrances. While the legendary Patchouli remains, Réminiscence has specialized in the art of distilling rare perfumes, with a taste of faraway places. Since the 2000s, the fine house has attempted to shift its register slightly by offering more florals and fewer oriental perfumes, without forgetting its famous “Réminiscade”: from this influence and the talents of Fabrice Pellegrin, the beautiful Vanille was born in 2012.

Réminiscence was born in the 1970s out of the love of a traveling couple, Zoé Coste and Nino Amaddeo, for jewelry and perfumes from faraway places. As their first boutique opened, the couple already offered a perfume, Patchouli. Patchouli and its powerful exotic accords quickly bewitched the world, and the small perfume house from the south of France became a large house that would also produce other fragrances very much of the 1970s, such as Ambre and Musc.

However, in the 2010s Nino Amaddeo wished to give these cult perfumes new installments that would preserve the oriental spirit of their predecessors while conveying a floral warmth that was less opulent, more Mediterranean in essence. Fabrice Pellegrin immediately understood the creator's wishes and composed beautiful perfumes such as White Tubéreuse and Love Rose. He also composed Vanille in 2012, and this time the wonderful descendant of the hippie perfumes would be as delicate as it was wild, as sun-kissed and refined as it was feminine and understated.

Vanille, like Ambre, Musc or Tonka, seeks to showcase the famous pod we all know by revealing it under unexpected facets, away from the usual gourmand opulence of vanilla perfumes. A Vanille that some would even go so far as to compare to a worthy descendant of the sublime Shalimar, so pronounced is its extreme refinement…

This Vanille could therefore be what I personally would have imagined for a Miss Shalimar: vanilla, the main signature, but in a modern, contemporary, lightened vision. Olfactorum about Vanille by Réminiscence.

For Vanille, Fabrice Pellegrin set out to gather the finest absolutes of these miraculous little pods from all four corners of the world. He also dusted his composition with his emblematic flower, tuberose, and with fruity notes of osmanthus, in order to highlight the best of this Vanille, far more complex and rich than the overused image attributed to it…

Vanille by Réminiscence opens on fresh and dynamic bergamot notes and slightly apricot-toned osmanthus, to bring out the deliciously fruity face of vanilla. Then the vanilla pod infusion blends with its flower to carry us further into a floral and very sun-kissed swirl of Mediterranean jasmine and tuberose flowers. Finally, Bourbon vanilla and Ugandan vanilla marry delightfully with the famous sensual and fiery ingredients of the “Reminiscade” to bewitch us once more with its magic…
