Péng Lái, the fragrance of a Chinese goddess

Péng Lái is a fragrance that invites daydreaming. As a bit of background, Péng Lái is the name of one of the four islands located at the eastern edge of the Bohai Sea. Asian legend tells that the goddess of flowers, He Xiangu, is said to have stayed there. It is this legend and this unique, poetic place that served as a source of inspiration for Berdoues. Péng Lái expresses the floral character specific to its region while enveloping it in pleasant fruity, warm, apricot-like accents.

Péng Lái, a fragrance built on a trio of scents

Péng Lái by Berdoues is built on three main ingredients. The most important of these is an emblematic Chinese flower: osmanthus. Blooming for only about ten days, it is a particularly precious and refined ingredient. Here, osmanthus unfolds a scent close to that of apricot and dried fruits. It gives Péng Lái a more sensual side, quickly amplified by benzoin resin. This ingredient has been used in Asian incense blends for many years. Here it releases a warmer, vanilla-like note, reminiscent of caramel or cocoa butter. Finally, tonka bean comes to envelop the whole with its naturally distinctive character, at once warm and gourmand.
