Thierry Wasser composed Santal Royal for Guerlain in 2014, a woody oriental first reserved for the Middle East and the Salon de Parfums at Harrods. Guerlain now offers it in the Absolus Allegoria collection: a rare sandalwood rising in the half-light, between the dark notes of leather and oud and the brightness of jasmine and rose.

In 2014, Santal Royal came in a black lacquered bottle, trimmed at the neck with a black and gold ribbon, according to the Moodie Davitt Report; the eau de parfum sold in 125 ml. Thierry Wasser also mentions, to Arab News, a bee bottle decorated by the artist Tarek Benaoum.
In the Absolus Allegoria collection, Guerlain houses it in the emblematic Allegoria bottle, made in France with 15% recycled glass, with a removable pump and a transparent lacquer, two choices the house presents as making recycling easier. The size is 125 ml.
The house also offers Santal Royal as a 40 ml hair mist, which it says is faithful to the eau de parfum and which, like it, claims more than 90% natural-origin ingredients.
