Rochas today divides Rochas Man into three tiers: lavender and bergamot at the top, jasmine at the heart, vanilla and sandalwood in the base. Coffee, which the house sets against lavender, sits in the base according to both Osmoz and the encyclopedia Perfume Intelligence.

An aromatic opening

Lavender and bergamot give the opening what the house calls a reassuring aromatic freshness. Osmoz and Perfume Intelligence add green leaves; Osmoz places artemisia in the opening, while Perfume Intelligence groups it with the flowers.

Jasmine and raspberry wood

For the house, jasmine brings a bright bath of floral light that lends grace and sophistication to this masculine scent. Rochas pairs it with raspberry wood. Osmoz and Perfume Intelligence surround the jasmine with lily of the valley, iris and a milk note.

Coffee, vanilla and sandalwood

Vanilla and sandalwood wrap the base in a sweetness the house calls gourmand. Coffee, the counterpoint to lavender, is its most distinctive feature. Osmoz and Perfume Intelligence add amber, and Osmoz sees the whole as a fresh amber that unites two extreme scents.

What the label declares

The label opens with denatured alcohol, water and fragrance. Two UV filters, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, protect the juice along with BHT, an antioxidant.

The declared allergens are linalool, coumarin, alpha-isomethyl ionone, limonene, citral and benzyl alcohol. Three colorants, violet 2, red 33 and yellow 5, give the juice its tint.
