The fragrance for Ralph Lauren athletes: Polo Sport. Men have always been fascinated by sport. Many of them follow the news on television and in newspapers, but many also practice it themselves.
Released in 1994, Polo Sport is an ultra-fresh and elegant fragrance that will win over every discerning athlete. A concentration of energy, Polo Sport is the fragrance of modern-day heroes. Whether competitive, playful or casual, the athlete has a place here. Because the athlete also needs an essence of their own, ultra-fresh and citrus, one that lasts over time, like an athlete during a match. The Ralph Lauren athlete needs to stand out, and thanks to Polo Sport, they will not go unnoticed. Ultra-dynamic, Polo Sport is a composition signed by Harry Fremont.
Harry Fremont, a competitive athlete behind Polo Sport
Born in Cannes, Harry Fremont succeeded in joining ISIPCA, the prestigious perfumery school. He was then hired by the Firmenich company. In 1984 and 1985, Harry Fremont received the Prize of the Société Technique des Parfumeurs de France. Harry Fremont is talented and bold. He enjoys creating timeless, elegant fragrances. Michael Edwards, an English perfumery expert, states that Harry Fremont is one of the most prolific perfumers in perfumery. From the outset, Harry broke the rules: his very first fragrance, New West for Him, pioneered the Water family. His imagination has given rise to blockbusters such as CK One, or Ralph Lauren's Romance. Harry Fremont is indeed responsible for beautiful fragrances such as Mon Paris, Eau de Toilette by Yves Saint Laurent or Miracle by Lancôme.
Ralph Lauren Polo Sport, ultra-invigorating fragrant notes
From the outset, Polo Sport opens on ultra-invigorating notes combined with accords of great freshness, thanks to the presence of bergamot, lemon, mandarin and a marine accord. The heart is at once aromatic and spicy, pairing rosewood with ginger. The word ginger comes from Sanskrit and means shaped like a horn. Discovered around 2,500 years ago in China, ginger was known for circulating energy through the body, hence its reputation as an aphrodisiac. Ginger was subsequently exploited for its many medicinal properties. In perfumery, ginger is steam-distilled from cleaned, dried rhizomes. It releases dry, zesty, lemony or soapy tonalities. Finally, the base of Polo Sport is at once sensual and virile, combining vetiver, oakmoss and white musks. Oakmoss is the product of lichen, which grows on the branches and trunk of trees. Lichen is a kind of growth made up of fungi. In perfumery, oakmoss releases sweet, powerful tonalities, evoking the scent of undergrowth and dampness. The Polo Sport composition is housed in a bright royal blue bottle topped with an ultra-masculine silver cap.
