The One, where everything is gold, luxury and voluptuousness. Dolce & Gabbana is first and foremost the story of a wonderful artistic and human encounter. Founded in 1985, Dolce & Gabbana was created by two Italians, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The Dolce & Gabbana label, founded by the two Italians Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, has offered us, since the 1980s, sensual and elegant haute couture collections in the image of the Italian woman, both modern and delightfully sophisticated. The same holds true for its fragrances, which exalt in every way the Italy dreamed up by the two men, and The One is no exception, carrying us away in a contrasting and surprising whirlwind where every woman becomes unique.
The One by Dolce & Gabbana, or the fragrance of a unique woman signed Christine Nagel
The two founders of the Italian house Dolce & Gabbana have always sung the praises of this seductive and charming Italian woman, sparkling and joyful, elegant and modern, who never ceases to inspire them, both for their haute couture designs and for their many fragrances.
The One, released in 2006, could be seen as the culmination of this love for women, the fragrance in which every woman can write her own story according to her desires. Who better than the talented and so creative Christine Nagel to write this fragrant tribute with its many scented faces? Still at the beginning of her career in 2006, The One revealed the incredible technique and inventive genius of the German perfumer, who ultimately won the extraordinary challenge set by the Italians for perfumers to compose The One.
The One by Dolce & Gabbana was another challenge, because I kept being told that my perfumery was too signature-driven to succeed in winning a competition against Procter and Gamble. The note had a great deal of character and we managed to win the competition with my project, in which my evaluator at the time believed strongly, Christine Nagel recounts to the blog Ma Récréation about the creation of The One.
This woman of The One was therefore one of Christine Nagel's very first great successes, and from then on she went on to sign numerous fragrances, until becoming, in 2016, the in-house nose of the house of Hermès, succeeding the great Jean-Claude Ellena.
At times fruity and sparkling, at times floral and sensual, The One never ceases to surprise us
The whole beauty of Dolce & Gabbana's The One lies in two magic formulas. First, the exceptional quality of the olfactory raw materials chosen by Christine Nagel, and then in its composition, which plays with contrasts and light without ever losing its balance. The One is the fragrance of every woman, yet it takes shape uniquely on each one who wears it.
The One opens with a cocktail of fresh and juicy fruits built around bergamot, mandarin, lychee and peach. Then, at the heart, white lily becomes voluptuous and enveloping, powdering the fruity top notes with its singular and elegant floral sweetness. Finally, vanilla and amber notes form, together with the heart flower, a sensual and luxurious musky ensemble.
The One is a floriental Eau de Parfum that combines contemporary fruity ingredients with the perfumer's classic palette of white flowers, according to Dolce & Gabbana about The One.
