Michel Girard transforms the elegant The One into a fragrance wrapped in mystery around a tuberose displayed under multiple facets. Mysterious, intoxicating, the floral oriental The One Desire offers Dolce & Gabbana women an ode to femininity tinged with shadows and light.
The One Desire woman suggests, proposes but disposes!
The One Desire was inspired by the words of the masters of the haute couture house Dolce & Gabbana, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana: Everything begins with desire. Without it, there can be neither seduction, nor sensuality, nor even passion. According to us, it is vital to give free rein to this feeling, to push past its limits and to fully live one's emotions. Cradled by these words, Michel Girard created The One Desire, released in 2013.
The release of The One Desire was closely followed by a fully glamorous new advertising campaign for the complete The One and The One for Men line. Carried by their respective faces of the campaign, Scarlett Johansson for The One and Matt McGrath for The One for Men, the 2013 advertisement propels us into a 1930s New York filmed by the great Martin Scorsese. The meeting between the star couple and the great director offers us an advertising film with the retro and glamorous charm of a now-ended romance—well, not entirely, in fact, since desire remains. That very desire from which The One Desire is born.
The house Dolce & Gabbana spared no commercial means in launching this new fragrance The One Desire with fervor from its release, convinced that this perfume [The One Desire] is one of the best of the year for the industry, according to Luigi Feola, president of P&G's Prestige department and head of commercial development for The One Desire. Thus, pharaonic communication budget figures were regularly announced for this release of the blockbuster perfume from Dolce & Gabbana, as The One Desire was nicknamed by its creators. Would the fragrance become a box-office hit? No, certainly not.
The magical meeting between a tuberose note and The One Desire...
The One Desire aims to be the potion of desire, an invisible and fragrant potion that charms without being provocative. What better then to represent this The One Desire than the splendid traditional bottle of the line, adorned in intense, deep black? Thus The One Desire blends into an elegant and mysterious darkness, the better to be crowned with a sparkling gold cabochon. Could shadow and light be the ingredients of desire and of this The One Desire?
The One Desire opens on a sparkling, tangy start of bergamot and mandarin that hints only at the wild energy of seduction. Then the preciously floral heart sends us armfuls of rose, lily of the valley and jasmine notes, giving this The One Desire a glamorous and elegant femininity. Lychee and plum, faithful ingredients of The One, add their exotic and fruity touches, the better to blend into the brilliant novelty of The One Desire, the green and deep facet of the Indian tuberose note. A sensual depth that will be heightened by blond woods, amber and sandalwood. Vanilla and caramel are added with delight to this ultra-sensual cocktail.
Every woman is The One, according to Dolce & Gabbana. Thus this The One Desire speaks to the dark and mysterious face of the woman who desires and wishes to be desired. Sensuality and depth express this sensual movement without losing an ounce of Italian elegance.
