Since then, he has managed to be present in every area of fashion, from watchmaking to home linens. For Calvin Klein, fragrances are inseparable from fashion. That is why he entered the arena in 1981. In 1985, he unveiled Obsession pour femme. A fragrance of character that combines florals with spices, Obsession is the juice of passion par excellence.
The Calvin Klein woman surrendered to passion
From its name alone, one understands that Obsession is a fragrance synonymous with love and passion. As the perfumer explains, Calvin Klein wanted to evoke here all the fervor and sensuality of a woman surrendered to passion. The Obsession woman is therefore utterly bewitching. Obsession reveals the natural charm of every woman and makes it radiate so that she may be more irresistible than ever. Since Calvin Klein wanted to create a fragrance that would not go unnoticed, Obsession borders on recklessness. Indeed, it contains an extraordinary concentration of extrait de parfum. It surpasses every record and reaches an exceptional dosage of 72%... With every note, one is overwhelmed by successive waves of warmth, each stronger than the last. With Obsession, Calvin Klein addresses women in what is most precious and most secret about them.
The floral-spicy notes of Obsession
This oriental composition was created by the highly talented noses Bob Slattery and Jimmy Bell. Obsession takes flight on the highly energizing notes of mandarin, bergamot and lemon. These blend harmoniously with more aromatic notes such as basil and coriander. The heart is intensely feminine, notably thanks to orange blossom. It is also a subtle blend of florals and spices with the presence of rose, jasmine and coriander. The base is sensual and bewitching thanks to the amber and woody notes of sandalwood, vetiver and musk... The intensity is at its peak. As for the bottle, it too is meant to be carnal. The idea was to give it curves evocative of sensuality. Designed by Pierre Dinand, the bottle draws inspiration from an Indian prayer stone brought back from the American Southwest and belonging to Calvin Klein's personal collection of rare objects.
Calvin Klein's first major success, Obsession is a fragrance of character. The subtle blend of florals and spices over an amber base gives the composition irresistibly seductive fragrances. Obsession symbolizes love in all its strength and passion... Who has never lost their mind surrendering to passion?
