Noa, an added touch of soul The Cacharel house was created in 1959 by Jean Bousquet, then a tailor. In 1962, he registered his first label, Jean Cacharel. Cacharel was quickly noted for its modern and highly romantic creations.
In asking Olivier Cresp to compose its new fragrance, the Cacharel house knew very well that the adolescent orientations of Anaïs Anaïs or Loulou would no longer apply. For the master perfumer enjoys offering gourmand and sensual fragrances that are also highly original, which he did with the beautiful Noa, released in 1998. A symbol of peace and light, Noa illuminates the perfumery of the coming century.
Noa by Cacharel, or Olivier Cresp's luminous gourmand delights
With Anaïs Anaïs, Loulou, or even Eden, the Cacharel house offered young women fragrances that answered their questions, their desires, and simply their age. Yet in introducing Noa in 1998, the now very famous perfume house moved away from young girls to focus on the woman at peace, the woman in search of herself and new values.
In order to create this zen elixir, Cacharel turned to the great perfumer Olivier Cresp. The choice of this creator seems all the more surprising since the nose is far better known for his gourmand compositions, notably the fabulous Angel, than for his floral compositions. Yet this did not stop Olivier Cresp from composing for Noa a very floral fragrance while adding his gourmand signature with coffee scents, fruity notes and beautiful woody sensuality.
Despite these gourmand accords, Noa is by no means a copy of the great Angel by Mugler, far from it! The perfumer makes it a point of honor never to create two similar fragrances, so each of his creations, though signed with a few very personal raw materials, is a unique creation.
Attributed to Olivier Cresp: he forbids himself from making copies, so he does not pay attention to the market, he does not want the market to interfere with his thoughts, with his ideas.
The serenity of white musks for a fragrance of wisdom named Noa
Noa by Cacharel is described by its composer Olivier Cresp as a coffee musk. Naturally, floral accords could not disappear entirely from a Cacharel fragrance, as this signature is so emblematic of the house's perfumes. However, in Noa, the floral splendors of lily of the valley and peony are made both green and fresh through the hedione top notes, yet also sensual and burning through their depths of benzoin and incense.
As for the coffee accords of Noa, they are particularly highlighted by gourmand scents of vanilla, tonka bean and incense, as if the smoke of this luminous Noa were that of a burning coffee. Beyond these warm base notes, the fruity notes of plum and peach also become very gourmand from the very opening of this lovely Noa.
The overdose of white musks in the depths of Noa is very representative of the cocooning effect that both the perfumer and the house wanted to offer in their bottle. Soft and voluptuous, the plush clouds of white musks become velvet on the skin alongside the warmth of sandalwood and cedar.
