L'Homme Le Parfum, a new woody power
The fragrances of the L'Homme collection by Yves Saint-Laurent have always given off a very masculine air, built on a woody sillage. It is precisely on this aspect that the 2020 L'Homme Le Parfum is based. So how is it so different from its predecessors? In fact, Yves Saint-Laurent chose here to give its woody breath another dimension, providing it with more depth, nuance and contrast. L'Homme Le Parfum is a juice just as warm as it is seductive and smooth. To win over women's hearts, it moves between strength and subtlety. Its aim: to capture, through a fragrance, the scent of warm skin under an impeccable suit. More specifically, as surprising as it may seem, L'Homme Le Parfum opens with top notes based on cedar. Yet this ingredient is usually reserved for the base notes of fragrances. Its heart, meanwhile, relies mainly on amber flavors. In its base, tonka bean reveals itself as almondy and toasted. All these elements are also highly persistent. Thus, L'Homme Le Parfum displays perfect tenacity and does not fade over the hours.
Yves Saint-Laurent opts for a sturdy yet very elegant bottle
As for the bottle, L'Homme Le Parfum clearly picks up the codes of previous versions of L'Homme. Fans of the house therefore immediately recognize themselves in its visual. It still features a cylindrical base, with heavy, imposing glass, a guarantee of its full sturdiness. Moreover, at its top, L'Homme Le Parfum is crowned by a wide hexagonal cap with a very industrial feel. In this sense, it also clearly rides current trends. Its name, meanwhile, is written in silver script on the front face, with sobriety and modernity. A real difference compared to previous versions of L'Homme? Its color has now changed, becoming more bluish. In fact, this time, the house of Yves Saint-Laurent sought to recreate the effect of ink dissolving in its fragrance. Its blue color, slightly turquoise, is lighter at the base and darker at the top. An energy seems to spread across its walls, while giving off a masculinity that is modern, universal and captivating.
