Lacoste Booster: Like a fragrance with the air of an energy drink. After launching two men's fragrances including the famous Lacoste Original, Lacoste this time addressed itself particularly to a young male audience with Booster, in 1996.
The Lacoste house has for decades now exuded the sporting spirit and combativeness of its founder, the tennis player René Lacoste, but also the elegance and charm of men who favor the famous L12.12 polo shirt. After a first great success in perfumery in 1984, followed by a second men's fragrance that was misunderstood, Lacoste set itself the challenge of offering, with Booster in 1996, a fragrance closer than ever to its spirit and values.
Between youth and splendor, Booster redefines Lacoste through the talent of Jean Kerléo
If the very first Lacoste fragrance, Original, received a magnificent public reception from its release, the same cannot be said of Land, despite its magnificent and complex accords. Yet the same perfumer, Jean Kerléo, was behind both fragrances. A perfumer far from a novice, given that his scented creations for the Patou house, a partner of Lacoste perfumery, such as 1000, Joy or Sublime, are acclaimed and sought after time and again.
But Land by Lacoste, launched in 1991, strayed too far from the sporty, youthful spirit championed by the Lacoste house through its clothing and fragrance ranges. Thus the fragrance to follow the lukewarm release of Land had to be fully in tune with Lacoste's young, sporty audience.
Booster, launched in 1996, would therefore be a fragrance that would go on to exude the combative, sporting spirit of all men wearing the Lacoste L.12.12. Functional and designed for an audience thirsty for modernity, Booster aims to be the scented spray of everyday feats.
However, just as he had done for Land, Jean Kerléo added to the dynamism of Booster the touch of elegance and sophistication necessary for any Lacoste fragrance, through a floral heart.
Playing and winning are not enough. One must also master one's style, said René Lacoste.
Booster by Lacoste, between aromatic olfactory notes and floral notes, it does not choose!
As mentioned, Jean Kerléo is the undisputed master perfumer of all Patou fragrances since 1967. A house for which he worked for more than 30 years, offering the couturier virtually all of the greatest bestsellers of its perfumery thanks to his originality and innate sense for the choice of raw materials. A talent he also brought to the creations he composed for the Lacoste house, including the powerful Booster.
Booster opens like an energizing cocktail thanks to the aromatic blend of mugwort, tarragon and peppermint. At the heart, the surprise guest of this Booster keeps one waiting but is quickly revealed in lovely, delicate notes of cyclamen boosted by an energetic yet very floral geranium. A smooth, warm touch of nutmeg brings its spicy sweetness to this lively ensemble. Finally, the classic woody notes of men's perfumery of the era, vetiver and cedar, are once again wrapped in softness through velvety white musks.
Fresh and dynamic with its notes of peppermint, the fragrance of a sportsman who pushes himself in effort and victory. Lacoste on Booster.
