Joy Dior Eau de Parfum Intense While the Dior house has a history spanning many decades, its Joy Dior fragrance, by contrast, is much more recent. It appeared in 2018 and, although it already enjoys worldwide recognition, it remains the house's newest addition!
Presented in a pink and silver bottle, utterly feminine, Joy Intense appeared during the summer of 2019, as if to offer a more sensual version of the previous Joy de Dior, created a year earlier. Embodied on screen by actress Jennifer Lawrence, set to the Rolling Stones' “She's a Rainbow”, Joy Intense is an ode to joie de vivre and happiness. Once again, to create this fragrance, Dior called upon François Demachy, the house's official nose. So how does this new olfactory opus differ from its predecessor?
Joy Intense, an unchanged floral heart
While Joy Intense is indeed a new fragrance, it does not forget its origins. It preserves the same philosophy as its predecessor and gives off a scent just as floral and feminine. To enhance the woman who wears it while providing her with instant happiness, Joy Intense relies at its heart on two main ingredients: jasmine and rose. As always, Dior did not select just any quality of ingredients. In fact, the rose and jasmine in Joy Intense are among the most prestigious raw materials in the world. Both flowers come from Dior's own gardens and crops, located in Grasse, the world capital of perfumery since the sixteenth century.
The luminous freshness of Joy Intense
Beyond this floral heart, Joy Intense also seduces with its fresh and airy opening, composed of bergamot, as in the previous Joy de Dior. This fruit, born of the crossing between bitter orange and lemon, gives off a zesty, tangy and sparkling breath. Its sweetness is further brightened with neroli, an ingredient absent from the previous Joy. This essential oil, distilled from orange blossom, is smooth and citrusy. It preserves the freshness of Joy while giving it a more seductive edge.
Joy Intense relies on a sensual and charming base
Neroli, however, is only a foretaste of the full charm of Joy Intense. More than ever, this fragrance plays the card of seduction. Its scent is both soft and relaxing, while giving off extreme femininity. The brightness of its rose and jasmine is carried through by a rounder base. The animalic musk is softened with a more milky sandalwood. Mysterious, this wood gives more depth to Joy Intense. Tonka bean further softens the whole with its almond-like, crisp and lightly toasted breath. Finally, vanilla stands out as the main differentiating ingredient of this fragrance. Exotic and seductive, it plunges the wearer into a smooth, sensual cloud that no one seems able to resist.
More intense than ever, the new Joy de Dior is a true fireworks display of emotion to be enjoyed daily.
