Jour d’Hermès Absolu

The third installment of the line opened in 2012, Jour d’Hermès Absolu appeared in 2014 under the signature of Jean-Claude Ellena. The perfumer tightens the bouquet of the first Jour around three raw materials — gardenia, sambac jasmine, apricot blossom — and gives the base a footing of oakmoss that pulls the whole toward chypre. The bottle is designed by Pierre Hardy.

A Pierre Hardy bottle with rounded curves, a drop of pink amber suspended at its center, refillable from the 125 ml refill.

The bottle is designed by Pierre Hardy, artistic director of jewelry and shoes at Hermès. It opens out in full curves, without an edge, and carries at its center what the house describes as a suspended drop of pink amber light.

Osmoz describes it as massive and notes that its tints pull more toward copper than those of the first Jour d’Hermès: the color of the juice reads through the glass and serves as a marker between the two versions.

The object is designed to be refilled rather than replaced. Hermès sells a 125 ml refill and files the argument under its ethics chapter, linking it to the lifespan of the object.
