The Lanvin haute couture house was born out of Jeanne Lanvin's passion for fashion, but also for her daughter. Indeed, it was at her daughter's birth that the milliner became a designer, creating ever more sophisticated outfits for her favorite young lady. Many years later, it was also for Marguerite that the now famous couturière created Arpège, a powerful and refined floral that would quickly become the best-selling perfume of the Lanvin house.
However, after the founder's death in 1946, Lanvin gradually lost momentum. It would take until the new millennium and the arrival of Alber Elbaz for Lanvin's ancestral values of sophistication and refinement to be reborn.
Quite naturally, the artistic director asked the talented Anne Flipo to compose a fragrance in tribute to the house's founder. To design Jeanne Lanvin, Anne Flipo traveled back to the roots of Jeanne's creativity, the splendor of youth inspired by her daughter. Just as the spirited and bold creator had once done with Arpège, Anne Flipo thus created for Lanvin a delicate yet very modern floral perfume, intended for very young women at the dawn of their femininity. Jeanne and her daughter Marguerite are gone, but through the perfume Jeanne Lanvin, their bond endures.

Jeanne Lanvin was created to pay tribute not only to the house's bold creator but also to the extraordinary love story with her daughter that inspired her throughout her creations. It comes as no surprise, then, that Anne Flipo chose, for Jeanne Lanvin, to gracefully blend modern and daring scents (like Jeanne Lanvin's personality) with more delicate scents, highlighting the purity of young women, as Arpège once did.
The modernity of Jeanne Lanvin lies of course in its many fruity and gourmand notes, both in the top with blackberry and plum, and in the heart with raspberry. The sensuality of the depths of ambergris, sandalwood and white musks is also very original, especially when paired with a very retro heart.
Indeed, the rose, freesia and peony in the heart evoke the perfumes of yesteryear far more than the gourmand perfumes of today. But this contrast between scents of the past and accords at the cutting edge of trend makes Jeanne Lanvin a bold and unique floral-gourmand perfume.
