Infusion de Figue

At first, Prada was just a family business, born in 1913 in Milan. No one knew then that it would become not only the official supplier to the Italian royal family, but also one of the largest players in global luxury, less than a century later. It is therefore by drawing inspiration from its prestigious past that Prada regularly creates timeless and unisex fragrances, combining tradition and modernity. In 2023, the Infusions de Prada line is enriched with a new creation: Infusion de Figue.

It was in 1913, in Milan, that the house of Prada was founded. Initially, it was solely a leather goods company. Today, the house is known worldwide for its fashion items, shoes and fragrances. Nevertheless, Prada does not forget its origins and is intent on carrying on certain traditions. As such, the Infusions de Prada collection grows year after year. In 2023, it is the turn of Infusion de Figue to be born. Let us see, then, what other raw materials accompany this gourmand fruit…

Fig, the central element of Prada's fragrance

Infusion de Figue by Prada is akin to a sweet marmalade. Naturally, its scent evokes fig ripened in the sun and laden with sugar. Through this choice, Prada invites us to savor the scent of summer ahead of time. With it, the house takes us into the heart of the Mediterranean region. It is therefore also a nod to its origins. Fig is explored here from every angle. Imbued with tenderness and sweetness, it develops almost honeyed accents, akin to a vacation memory. Deliciously indulgent, fig becomes a symbol of holidays spent in the Mediterranean. This fragrance seems steeped in an absolute sweetness of living. Note, however, that this is indeed a unisex fragrance. As such, Infusion de Figue does not tip into an overload of sweetness, but still preserves a fresh and airy side.

The very lively, zesty opening of Infusion de Figue

Far from being overly opulent, Infusion de Figue by Prada is a fragrance that also brings out extreme liveliness from its top notes. Composed by perfumer Daniela Roche Andrier, this fragrance opens with a breath of citrus. It must be said that this is a well-established custom in the world of perfumery. For Infusion de Figue, this specifically means mandarin. Tangy and sweet, it is almost devoid of any bitterness. Highly energizing, it is a citrus fruit that brings a touch of pep to daily life, while evoking the eaux de Cologne of days gone by. Thanks to it, Infusion de Figue by Prada gains an extra touch of timelessness, like an echo of the origins of present-day perfumery.

The final green, persistent note of Infusion de Figue by Prada

While the fig accord serves as the thread running through this entire creation, it nonetheless becomes greener and more radiant in the base of this fragrance. At this point, mastic unfolds a textured, assertive freshness. This resin also recalls the Mediterranean. Indeed, it is an ingredient typical of the Corsican maquis. Galbanum is also added to this. This element rounds out the composition with its greener, resinous, earthy touch. Its rising, gripping character lends more tenacity to this fragrance.
