The Eighth Room

Saebyeok (새벽)

Saebyeok (새벽) is a unisex extrait de parfum from the Korean house The Eighth Room, released in May 2026 among its first four fragrances. It evokes the dawn and the morning greeting that opens the king's day. Jeju tangerine, pink pepper and a green note open an accord of lily of the valley, pine moss and galbanum, set on white musk, clearwood and ambergris.

Where to buy

The Eighth Room is a niche perfume house based in Seoul, introduced to the Korean market in May 2026. Its fragrances tell the story of the day at the Joseon royal court; its name refers to an eighth room, beyond the seven pavilions of the palace, reserved for a single being.

Saebyeok belongs to the first series of four fragrances, along with Sumgyeol, Baram and Sanyang. Subtitled “A Dawn Greeting,” it captures the moment when the king receives the morning greetings, in the cold air before daybreak, between resolve and respect.

It is sold on the house's website as a 75 ml extrait de parfum, priced at 210,000 won, and as an 8 ml miniature at 39,000 won. It is also included in the discovery set “A King's Day.”

What is still missing

No perfumer is named by the house, which also does not classify Saebyeok within an olfactory family. The bottle is described only by its 75 ml and 8 ml sizes.
