Guerlain launched Idylle in September 2009, Thierry Wasser’s first feminine fragrance as the house perfumer. Around a communelle of Bulgarian roses with hints of raspberry and lychee, he brings together lily of the valley, peony, freesia, lilac and jasmine over a chypre base of patchouli and white musks. Persolaise finds its diffusion astonishing; Victoria, of Bois de Jasmin, expected more.

In 2009, Idylle appeared in a curved, golden drop-shaped bottle designed by Ora Ïto, which the house presented as a tear of joy, a drop of gold. It came in three sizes.
In the Les Légendaires collection, the fragrance takes the “inverted heart” bottle the house attributes to Raymond Guerlain, in 1912, underlined with Art Nouveau scrolls and closed by a hollow heart-shaped stopper. Engraving is offered.
