The whole depicts the image of a sensual and natural man, a sort of modern-day Tarzan surrounded by wild animals. This is, incidentally, precisely the image offered in the advertising campaign signed by Jean-Paul Goude. Let us take a closer look at this refreshing water for the animal that sleeps within man.
Guerlain's return to its roots
With this fragrance, Guerlain seems to have wanted to encourage men to refocus on themselves and on their origins. It thus reveals man in his most natural state. Here he appears simply as an assembly of flesh and bone, energy and soul. Guerlain reveals man in all his simplicity while paying tribute to his unimaginable evolution. It is at once a matter of an animal man, separated from the Bonobos of the equatorial African forests by only 1% of genetics. Nevertheless, Guerlain also offers the image of this man capable of thinking, inventing, developing himself, a true genius of modern civilization. It is precisely all these contrasts and this complexity that are found in Guerlain Homme. This fragrance is all at once: freedom, determination, masculinity, ease, casualness. It thus suits a man dressed in a tuxedo just as well as a more feline or sporty individual wearing sneakers. Guerlain man is a man of instinct. Guided by his flair, it seems that this time he has delivered an olfactory condensation of his character named Guerlain Homme.
The aromatic freshness of Guerlain Homme
Guerlain Homme is a fragrance that was born in 2008 from the hands of the talented perfumer Thierry Wasser, exclusive nose of the house of Guerlain. He then chose to create a refreshing and invigorating essence built around a mojito accord. In other words, this fragrance alone brings together all the ingredients of this famous cocktail. It opens with a zest of lemon accompanied by a few crushed peppermint leaves. Naturally, the whole is strengthened with a shot of Jamaican rum paired with rhubarb. The ensemble then gains a little more brightness thanks to the citrus presence of bergamot as well as the green aspect of green tea leaves. Geranium, for its part, completes this fragrance with its typically masculine and lightly spicy elegance. It reveals itself as both rosy and refined. Finally, the whole gradually gains in vibrancy and virility, ending on resolutely masculine effluvia of vetiver. Once housed in a solid, metallized glass bottle, Guerlain Homme has, since 2016, been delivered in the rectangular bottle characteristic of Guerlain fragrances. It is topped with a black cap ringed with silver metal. The transparency of its glass, meanwhile, lets us glimpse the very natural light green color of its juice, like a kind of return to its roots.
