Do Son is the eau de parfum Diptyque drew in 2013 from its 2005 eau de toilette, both signed by Fabrice Pellegrin. It stems from a memory of Yves Coueslant, co-founder of the house, who spent his childhood summers in Do Son, on Ha Long Bay: a tuberose at dusk, surrounded by orange blossom, jasmine and amber woods.
Diptyque does not break Do Son down into top, heart and base notes. For the eau de parfum, the house names four materials: tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine and amber woods.
A many-sided tuberose
Fabrice Pellegrin works the tuberose in several directions: green, aquatic, floral, creamy and sunny. Orange blossom, jasmine and amber woods complete this portrait of a white flower at dusk.
The 2005 eau de toilette
For the eau de toilette, Robin of Now Smell This cited in 2005, around the tuberose, orange tree leaves, rose, iris, benzoin and a white musk. Victoria of Bois de Jasmin named rose, narcissus, orange blossom, iris and white musk.
What the label declares
The ingredient list published by the house is short. After denatured alcohol, fragrance and water, it declares the regulated allergens: linalool, eugenol, hydroxycitronellal, isoeugenol, benzyl benzoate, citronellol and geraniol.
