From then on, the house of Nina Ricci would always offer elegant and modern fragrances, if possible even ahead of their time. This is precisely the case with Deci Dela which, a year before Angel by Thierry Mugler, offered sweet gourmand accents blended with a wind of flowers.
When Nina Ricci indulges in the gourmand character of a resolutely modern fragrance: Deci Dela
L’Air du Temps and its magnificent doves marked the 1950s with its floral and spicy whirlwind, refined and powerful, a true little olfactory miracle composed by Francis Fabron for the man who was then only a couturier: Robert Ricci. This second fragrance from the house of Nina Ricci was such a success that it was quickly in high demand and would cross the decades without aging, growing younger each year with a new and beautifully designed bottle.
Deci Dela, although released nearly 50 years after L’Air du Temps, is one of the house's olfactory and inventive feats. This time, the perfumer who chose to create the composition of Deci Dela did not draw inspiration from spicy flowers but from fruity and gourmand flowers, at a time when the trend for gourmand fragrances had not yet been launched by its famous forerunner Angel, which would be released a year later.
Thus Deci Dela stood out as a highly original and innovative fragrance, and its advertising campaign played on this aspect to rival boldness with special effects and a young ingenue actress. Indeed, the charm and originality of Anne Brochet in this campaign perfectly highlighted the originality of both the composition and the bottle of Deci Dela. Moreover, the creators of Deci Dela's communication stated without hesitation that they wanted to show a woman attuned to everything happening around her without being frivolous. A woman in step with the times, in short…
Deci Dela, between fruity and chypre olfactory originality
Deci Dela was composed by perfumers Evelyne Boulanger and Jean Guichard, who chose to work along three main lines: fruity facets first, then white and powdery floral facets, and finally deep woody sensuality. As for the bottle of Deci Dela, at least as original as its fragrance, it was designed like a colorful work of art by Elisabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti.
Deci Dela remains, even today, a highly original fragrance that opens on a rather unexpected start of raspberry, peach, apricot and boronia. To accompany these fresh and delicate gourmand accents, the heart unfolds into precious white floral notes of jasmine and freesia, dusted with elegant iris. A touch of hazelnut adds its original touch to the whole. Finally, patchouli, sandalwood and styrax join vanilla to form a sensual and powerful sillage befitting the tender and playful woman of Deci Dela, who nonetheless never forgets to seduce!
