Lady Caron

Rather classic in his compositions, he admits to being fascinated by rare natural essences, and by the history of the house. Thus, it is always a pleasure for him to bring back into the spotlight the more than century-old heritage of Caron. This house's fragrances often tell stories. Such is notably the case with Lady Caron, a juice designed as a tribute to America, the land that once welcomed Ernest Daltroff.

The exile of Ernest Daltroff, creator of Caron

Lady Caron is a fragrance that immerses us in the history of the Caron family, and more precisely at the dawn of the Second World War. The Caron brand was born thanks to Ernest Daltroff in 1904. Of Jewish origin, he was forced into exile at the very start of the war, in 1939, to escape the Gestapo. Ernest Daltroff thus arrived in New York by ocean liner, passing along Long Island and the famous Statue of Liberty. Deeply grateful to his host country, he promised himself that he would one day honor this country that allowed him to live in complete freedom. He then had in mind to create a fragrance as a tribute to the United States. However, he died before the end of the war, in 1943, taking his vow with him. It was only much later that his promise came to fruition, thanks to his grandson, Patrick Alès. When he created Lady Caron, he decided to make it a tribute to the Statue of Liberty, at the same time paying homage to his grandfather.

Lady Caron, a floral concentrate

Lady Caron is designed as an enormous bouquet of white flowers with a majestic sillage. This highly poetic juice has an unforgettable and particularly feminine signature. Indeed, it contains all the major ingredients of women's perfumery. It opens first on a floral armful dominated by jasmine, orange blossom and magnolia. Rose also joins in, further asserting the femininity of the whole. Fruity notes of peach and raspberry bring a more tart and sparkling touch to this composition. Finally, Lady Caron ends on a more refined and woody base. Oakmoss structures the whole, giving this fragrance a deeper and more elegant character. Sandalwood, for its part, envelops everything in a more cottony softness. On the aesthetic side, Lady Caron recently changed bottles. Originally, it was a highly stylized bottle, bearing the face of the Statue of Liberty on its front. Entirely transparent, it revealed the color of an amber and golden juice. Its cap, meanwhile, resembled a prism of light rising toward the sky. Today, Lady Caron comes in a much more understated bottle, common to the entire collection of Caron's great classics. The Lady Caron bottle forms a kind of understated, elegant half-sphere, simply topped with a black cabochon. Its juice is also more transparent and less sun-kissed than before. Be that as it may, Lady Caron has nonetheless managed to retain all its refinement.
