Colonia Essenza is the eau de Cologne Acqua di Parma launched in 2010 to reinterpret Colonia, its 1916 classic, with a touch of originality. Seven citrus notes, from lemon to petitgrain, open onto rosemary, lily of the valley, rose, jasmine and clove, before a woody base of vetiver, patchouli, white musk and amber.
Kevin, on Now Smell This, finds it more dashing than Colonia; Marin Kristic, on Scent Grail, sees it as a major success and a signature scent.
What critics say
Now Smell This, September 2010
Kevin sees Colonia Essenza as a classic fragrance, more dashing and less prim than Colonia, its elder, and an eau de Cologne for all that never dominates a room. He loves its final diminuendo.
Scent Grail, October 2020
Marin Kristic considers it a major success and a signature scent, which he ranks among his cult fragrances. He finds it fully unisex, ideal in warm weather, affordable and natural, even if it may feel dated to younger noses.
