Colonia Essenza

The house and Sephora class Colonia Essenza among woody citrus fragrances. Lemon, orange, bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit, neroli and petitgrain form the top, rosemary, lily of the valley, a rose accord, a jasmine accord and clove the heart, vetiver, patchouli, white musk and amber the base.

Italian citrus

The launch announced fresh Italian citrus, an aromatic heart and a vibrant woody base, according to Now Smell This. Kevin, a Now Smell This writer, finds the opening has the look of a crisp orange blossom eau de Cologne.

Rosemary and lily of the valley

The heart pairs rosemary and clove with the flowers; Kevin finds a lily of the valley with some bite, nothing old-fashioned, and does not detect the jasmine.

Vetiver and patchouli

Vetiver, patchouli, white musk and amber make up the base, which Kevin only faults for having lost Colonia’s soapy side.

What the label declares

The list opens with alcohol, water and fragrance, with limonene, hydroxycitronellal and linalool. Three UV filters, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and ethylhexyl salicylate, protect the juice along with BHT.

Also listed are benzyl salicylate, citral, coumarin, eugenol, alpha-isomethyl ionone, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, amyl cinnamal, oakmoss extract, farnesol and citronellol.
