It is to this olfactory heritage that Le Galion wished to pay tribute through the creation of an entirely new fragrance named Cologne Nocturne.

Le Galion's love for Colognes

It was a talented perfumer named Paul Vacher who became the owner of the Le Galion company in 1935, succeeding Prince Murat, who had founded it a few years earlier. Paul Vacher had come to believe early on that perfume was not merely a luxury product. He defined it instead as an invisible character, intervening in men's lives to bring indefinable pleasures, creating that moment where gray turns to azure and black transforms into light through a mechanism that science has yet to grasp. Under this highly poetic image, he developed numerous exceptional fragrances over time. Nevertheless, the house of Le Galion has been particularly recognized, for more than 50 years, for its Colognes. Indeed, these have always been given pride of place, and with each new generation, the Le Galion brand offers a new period Cologne. Cologne Nocturne is a contemporary rendition of this, having been created by perfumer Rodrigo Flores Roux.

Cologne Nocturne, a fragrance against the current

While Colognes are usually described as essences composed mainly of citrus, lavender, rosemary and thyme, Cologne Nocturne is a rather different composition, elegant and subtle yet no less pronounced. So while Colognes are typically favored for daytime wear, Cologne Nocturne, on the other hand, is described more as an evening fragrance, designed for going out to dinner or for celebrating once night has fallen. It is an amber essence built on the vibrant richness of wood. Cologne Nocturne pairs the depth of cedar with that of patchouli. The result is an abstract, tempting concentration of modernity. Moreover, these ingredients are here dressed in lavender. The aromatics, in turn, come to brighten this ensemble. Thyme and rosemary rub shoulders with clary sage as well as a touch of intriguing spices. Nevertheless, the whole remains highly dynamic and is enriched with bergamot and lemon. It is then that rosewood comes to enhance the elegance of this already wonderfully refined fragrance. The whole is housed in a bottle reminiscent of Colognes of old. It takes on a cylindrical shape with slightly pleated glass. A metallic gray cap crowns the piece for a particularly urban and modern result, while still carrying a rich heritage. Cologne Nocturne is a fragrance that defies any sense of age. It is thus aimed at a very broad audience and fully intends to stand the test of time.
