Where to buy
White Patchouli is a sensual and intoxicating woody fragrance illuminated by airy white flowers contemplating themselves in the beauty of their animalic mirror. A contrasted and powerful fragrance with an intense floral sensuality.
Sobriety and elegance for Tom Ford's White Patchouli
Tom Ford's very first fragrance was born in 2006 under the name Black Orchid. Since then, the world-renowned designer and stylist has offered a substantial number of new releases within a few years thanks to the Private Blend collection and the signature fragrance collection. It is quite difficult to find common roots among all these fragrances, if only because they have none! Tom Ford fragrances are often unclassifiable, sumptuous and elegant olfactory jewels created according to the whims or inspiration of the Givaudan perfumers, the great creative partners of Tom Ford fragrances.
White Patchouli belongs, for many reasons, precisely to those magnificent fragrances that cannot be classified or filed into a category for fear that it might get lost there. Born from the desire to recreate in a modern and elegant form the famous raw material that made the golden days of bohemian perfumery in the 1970s, White Patchouli plays on the beauty of feminine contrasts to draw for us a patchouli that is (finally!) elegant while remaining definitively a great sensual fragrance.
With White Patchouli, Tom Ford offers an original fragrance, certainly, but also a refined and elegant one. To remain in keeping with this fine elegance, the previous shock-value advertising campaigns were set aside to present White Patchouli through a clean, refined visual. Photographed under the eye of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the beautiful face of the campaign for White Patchouli radiates and enchants in a magnificent dim black-and-white light.
The modernity of a luminous and elegant patchouli: Tom Ford's White Patchouli
As a nod to its beautiful ancestor Black Orchid, White Patchouli is showcased in a beautiful bottle dressed entirely in white. Of course, the beautiful retro glass keeps its fine fluting and its ogive cap, giving it that lovely retro effect that remains just as effective.
White Patchouli, composed by Pierre Négrin and Rodrigo Flores-Roux, opens with a sparkling blend of bergamot and the beautiful exotic aromatic note of coriander. Peony already enchants us with its floral opulence, better preparing us to receive the beautiful heart of this White Patchouli. Rose de mai absolute and night jasmine ring out at the heart like a floral symphony that plays at taking on the animalic darkness of a few ambrette seeds. Finally, the star of the fragrance, patchouli, appears in depth to marry the overflowing sensuality of blond wood while letting itself be shrouded in mystery by a few notes of incense.
Tom Ford reinvents patchouli, one of the most characteristic and classic ingredients of traditional perfumery, breathing modernity and sophistication into it to give the fragrance a different image. He likes to play with the duality, at once light and dark, associated with this ingredient, always synonymous with pure beauty, opulence and eroticism, attributed to Tom Ford regarding White Patchouli.
