In creating Eau de Pamplemousse Rose in 2009, Jean-Claude Ellena wanted to honor the tradition of the Colognes while using more modern raw materials in their composition. Thus the citrus fruit, a great classic of Cologne, comes in Eau de Pamplemousse Rose alongside the soft, elegant rose, an originality within the traditional olfactory frameworks of eaux de Cologne.

Refined and elegant, dynamic and deep, Eau de Pamplemousse Rose is appreciated as much for its great freshness as for its fine depths. To give this 2009 juice an even deeper fragrant dimension, Ellena proposed Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose in 2011.

As with the first eau de Cologne concentrate created in 2004, Concentré d’Orange Verte, the aim is to give the water a more intense character and extended longevity. It is therefore not a matter of transforming the composition of the Cologne but of reinforcing it in order to create a true eau de toilette. Thus Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose plays between modernity and refinement with its rosy floral note and its grapefruit, whose tones remain as lively and flavorful as ever, according to its creator, while instilling fragrant notes far stronger than before.

Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose: an ultra-powerful chypre zest

In order to distinguish Eau de Pamplemousse Rose from Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose, the bottle of the latter is of course still shaped like a glass lantern but takes on much darker green colors than the eau de Cologne, which seems fitting for a composition intended to be intense.

Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose of course still opens on notes of ultra-fresh grapefruit, but in this concentrate the citrus fruit feels almost real, so present is it. The rose, the intense floral heart of the composition, reveals itself in a greener light in this concentrate, even taking on a chypre character thanks to the notable presence of vetiver. Indeed, while in Eau de Pamplemousse Rose the vetiver could only be sensed, in Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose it asserts itself with vigor and nervous energy. Finally, oakmoss lends an additional, penetrating woody strength to this Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose, which aims to be as invigorating as it is delicate, as refined as it is elegant.
