Body Kouros, an ultra modern power It was in 1961 that Yves Saint Laurent founded his fashion house of the same name, rue de la Boëtie, in Paris.
Body Kouros is a fragrance that was created in 2000, as if to accompany men into a new millennium, while drawing on the past, on the heritage of Yves Saint-Laurent and on historic expertise. Indeed, its universe plunges us into the heart of ancient Greece. Moreover, Body Kouros is inspired by an earlier Yves Saint-Laurent fragrance, created in 1981, and simply named Kouros. It is a more modern reinterpretation of this cult fragrance. Inspired by it, it brilliantly manages to reinvent it. Here then is our review of this men's fragrance.

Body Kouros, a fragrance inspired by antiquity
As a reminder, Kouros is the name given to Greek statues, representing the body of a young, undressed and athletic man. Body Kouros thus plunges us into this universe from the very appearance of its name. As such, it is considered by many to be a modern interpretation of an almost divine being. With this fragrance, Yves Saint-Laurent addresses a man who takes care of himself. He is a perfect alliance of sculptural body and reflective mind. Do not be fooled by his dream physique, he also hides a sharp mind! Body Kouros immediately becomes a representation of the perfect being, a genuine fantasy for women and an ideal to achieve for men. Fascinating, it is also complex and reveals all the ambiguity contained within the masculine personality.
Body Kouros, a play of light and shadow
Body Kouros owes its existence to perfumer Annick Ménardo, renowned as one of the best fragrance creators on the planet. Here, she chose to explore a complex universe, combining dark accords with other, brighter nuances. Body Kouros launches on a sharp opening of Eucalyptus and spices. Between warm and cold, it makes its way toward virility and gradually gains in power upon contact with camphor wood and Cedar. This contrast between freshness and warmth is further enhanced by a bewitching and mysterious Incense. Body Kouros thus becomes more soothing. A genuine invitation to meditation, it wraps itself further in Benzoin in one final, more comforting breath.
Body Kouros's new, darker bottle
While the bottle of Kouros was entirely white and pristine, that of Body Kouros is much darker. Thus, the two appear like yin and yang. Reflecting the fragrance it contains, the bottle of Body Kouros brings opposites together. It combines the opaque and the transparent, the rounded and the square, the matte and the glossy. Thus, its matte gray surface is encircled by a few touches of metal, dark at its base but brighter at its top. Body Kouros displays an undeniable modernity and an unwavering masculinity. Pared-back and timeless, it speaks to all men in search of perfection.
