Ylang Ambrato

Ylang Ambrato is launched in 2025 by Gucci within The Alchemist’s Garden collection, a line created in 2019 whose claimed inspiration is the world of the apothecary and Italian herbalism. Signed by perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault, this unisex Eau de Parfum belongs to the floral amber olfactory family and fits within the collection’s alchemical approach, which explores singular extraction processes to reveal new accords.

The top note combines bergamot, neroli and black pepper, forming an opening that is both fresh and lightly spicy. The heart is built around an accord that the house claims stems from a co-maceration of ylang-ylang heart essence and tonka bean absolute, fused into a single amber accord. The base unfolds tobacco, labdanum cistus, tolu balsam, opoponax and oak, anchoring the composition in a deep, resinous and woody register.
