Y Le Parfum: The latest new release from Yves Saint Laurent Yves Saint-Laurent was a reserved yet audacious figure, whom nothing destined for such a career. Coming from a modest childhood, he owed his salvation only to his incredible determination. Today, though this great designer has left us, the house bearing his name regularly pays tribute to him.
Y, also called Y Man, is a perfume by Yves Saint-Laurent that appeared in 2017. Although fairly recent in the history of masculine compositions, it quickly won over a wide audience with its freshness and sense of cleanliness. A symbol of modernity and purity, Y has already been reinvented several times, becoming in turn an Eau de Parfum, Y Lives, or an Eau Fraîche. Yves Saint-Laurent likes to offer a new definition of it every year. 2021 did not escape this tradition, and the house unveils its new addition: Y Le Parfum. So how does it manage to reinvent itself once again? Here is our review.

Familiar ingredients, but now more powerful
Y Le Parfum reuses many ingredients already present in its original version. It thus retains a certain freshness and a very aromatic side. However, it now champions intensity and power. More masculine than ever, it heightens the fiery aspect of its original recipe. It first launches on a sharp freshness of grapefruit, apple and aldehydes. Ginger gives it a soapier, more peppery side. Its aromatic breath, meanwhile, comes more from its heart notes. These consist of sage, lavender and geranium. Finally, its dark and mysterious facet emerges from a woody, masculine sillage. Y Le Parfum ends on a touch of cedar, tonka bean and patchouli.
Y Le Parfum tints its emblematic bottle with a flamboyant black
As for the bottle, here too, Y Le Parfum's belonging to the Yves Saint-Laurent saga is immediately apparent. This glass bottle keeps its original shape. It remains a streamlined, sturdy glass monolith, fitted with a Y-shaped notch. However, unlike its predecessors, Y Le Parfum takes on a new black color. This is coated with a satin-finish lacquer. Thus, it displays a certain luminosity despite its dark color, which takes nothing away from its elegance.
Y Le Parfum, much more than a perfume, a symbol of ambition
Beyond simply being a fragrance aimed at the new generation, Y Le Parfum is a true manifesto of ambition and freedom. It champions self-transcendence and determination. Intended for the new generation, it speaks to the men of tomorrow and urges them to scoff at tradition and always move forward. It thus carries a very positive and ambitious message.
Yves Saint-Laurent chooses an excellent face of the campaign in the person of Lenny Kravitz
To support this message, Y Le Parfum is embodied on screen by the talented Lenny Kravitz. Endowed with incredible fame, he wins over every generation and the entire planet, which makes him a powerful symbol of success. He thus fits the image of this fragrance better than anyone. His rock 'n' roll side, meanwhile, is a mark of freedom. Finally, it should be noted in passing that Yves Saint-Laurent gains, with him, excellent publicity… Y Le Parfum therefore has serious assets to pave the way toward genuine success!
