Y Eau Fraîche: The new highly refreshing fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent Generation Y refers to people born in the 1980s and 1990s. These are the men who are currently building the future of our planet. To celebrate their creativity and highlight their audacity, the house of Yves Saint Laurent decided to dedicate a fragrance to them, in 2017.
Whether in fashion, perfumery or bottle design, the house of Yves Saint Laurent shines through its unrivaled craftsmanship and the rigorous selection of its raw materials from around the world. It is precisely in this way that the bottle of the new men's fragrance Y Eau Fraiche was designed. Naturally, its visual draws inspiration from that of its predecessor. However, a few details have been changed here and there, to better match the spirit of this new fragrance for men. Let us take a closer look at its bottle
A minimalist, clean-lined block of glass
Like its predecessor, the Y Eau Fraiche bottle aims to be particularly airy and elegant. Minimalist, it seems designed to stand the test of decades without ever showing its age. As such, it also speaks to all styles of men and to every generation alike. Transparent, this bottle immediately conveys a sense of freshness, cleanliness and clarity, which suits perfectly the essence it contains. To symbolize virility and stability, the whole also rests on a stable, solid base. Its rectangular shape, meanwhile, has clean, sturdy edges. In other words, the visual of Y Eau Fraiche is designed in the image of a reliable, charismatic man.
The Y-shaped notch of the Y Eau Fraiche bottle
Naturally, the collection's signature feature is still present: a Y-shaped notch is carved directly into the glass, on its side face. This is embedded within its walls and outlined by a metal edge bearing the name of Yves Saint Laurent. Naturally, as you may have gathered, this is a reference to the initial of Yves Saint Laurent… Yes, but not only that. Through this Y, the house suggests that it is addressing generation Y, that is to say the millennials. This is meant to symbolize the creative power and innovative drive of youth. Y Eau Fraiche is far more than a fragrance. It is a tribute to those who carry tomorrow's future.
The new elements of the Y Eau Fraiche bottle
While all the elements mentioned above were already present on the first edition of Yves Saint Laurent's Y fragrance, note that other details make their appearance. The creator's block of glass now takes on an icy look and is decorated this time with a frosted gradient, as if to convey the more vibrant spirit of this juice. This frosted gradient allows a sky-blue juice to show through. These elements give an even more luminous impression of this essence. As a result, this bottle appears as a true shot of freshness. Note also that the black cap of before has disappeared in favor of a small, snow-white cap. This element, crowning the whole, only makes this edition more luminous. Note, however, that, in a spirit that remains very masculine, the walls of this cap are finely engraved in the manner of a signet ring.
