Serge Lutens added La Nuit Tombée to its Collection noire in early 2026, as a 50 and 100 ml eau de parfum. The house presents it as a timeless, chypre and secret fragrance, meant for women and men alike.

Tender is the night

The house opens its story at the hour when day is about to lower its eyelids. In the waning winter sun, night suddenly weighs with all its might on the light of past lives, and lets memory glimpse its clashes and silences.

Set back, at a slight distance, its darkly clad skin smells of incense, cedar and patchouli. The house speaks of a chypre that dares not speak its name, a nocturnal shiver, a pact between intimacy and reserve.

A chypre without moss

The magazine LuxSure reads this choice as a response to regulation: deprived of the banned material of the classic chypre, the house entrusts the foundation to olibanum, the incense resin, backed by cedar and patchouli.
