White in Black Eau de Parfum

White in Black is the masculine that Lalique entrusted in 2021 to Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. Sicilian bergamot and grapefruit open against an olibanum resin; cardamom, lavender and pink pepper hold the heart; vanilla, ambroxan and Tolu balsam close on a warm, woody base.

Pochet du Courval glass in matte black, in the shape of the 1997 Lalique pour Homme. The lacquer finish has a slate effect: a white chalk pencil allows writing on it.

The bottle is the real gesture of this launch. Lalique entrusted Pochet du Courval with a glass coated in a matte black finish, achieved using a lacquering material developed for the occasion at the finishing site in Gamaches, in the Somme. The shape, however, does not change: it is that of the 1997 Lalique pour Homme, which the house has reused ever since.

The interest of the coating lies elsewhere. It behaves like a slate board: a white chalk pencil comes with the product, and one can write or draw on the bottle, then erase it. The name then takes on its meaning, white on black. Personalization of this kind remains rare in selective perfumery, and it is what most clearly sets this launch apart from its shelf neighbors.
