Tom Ford launched Noir Extreme in 2015 and lent his own face to the campaign. Sonia Constant, who composed the formula, steers Noir toward an amber woody style: spices and citrus in the top, a kulfi accord, rose, jasmine and orange blossom in the heart, and a base of amber, sandalwood and vanilla. The translucent black glass bottle bears a gold logo and cap.

A gourmand that does not imitate
On December 5, 2025, Andrei Lensky published on Fragrantica a tribute to Noir Extreme, which he counts among the finest gourmand achievements, signed by Sonia Constant. Wary of fragrances that copy desserts, he finds in it instead an elegant, complex and abstract gourmand.
He describes an opening on an amber, tobacco and coffee accord, dark and warm, threaded with fresh cardamom and a few strands of saffron. The kulfi becomes a thick, creamy accord, with hints of vanilla crème brûlée and caramel, surrounded by abstract flowers.
The amber base strikes him as golden and warming, supported by a woody, resinous framework. He finds in it, more vividly than in many Tom Ford fragrances, a measure of decadence and hedonism, while judging it easy to wear every day, especially in cold weather.
