Since 2009, the perfume Only The Brave has stood out as a star of perfumery, symbolizing masculine conviction and confidence better than any other fragrance. Today, it celebrates its 10th anniversary. To mark this occasion, Diesel decided to reinvent it and create another fragrance called Spirit of The Brave. Designed in collaboration with footballer Neymar, this new fragrance draws on his life and his courage, a choice that is evident from the very sight of its bottle: a black and gold glass fist bearing the image of a lion, Neymar's favorite tattoo. So, what about the scent of this new fragrance?

Spirit of The Brave, a highly energizing perfume

Let us first point out that Spirit of The Brave is a very lively perfume, ideal for accompanying athletes and helping them amplify their strength. Moreover, while Spirit of The Brave clearly targets the millennial generation, it also draws inspiration from perfumes of the past. Its opening, rich in bergamot, recalls the freshness of the old Eaux de Cologne, still highly appreciated by men. It should be noted, however, that the lightness of this fragrance has now become much more tenacious, which only adds an extra quality to it.

Diesel draws inspiration from a Brazilian forest

For this fragrance, the house of Diesel drew directly on Neymar's story, and more precisely on his native land. While preserving the initial freshness of its formula, it here focused on more green accents. Its goal? To evoke the scent of a Brazilian forest! In this sense, Spirit of The Brave is an invitation to travel that takes us across the Atlantic.

The main ingredients of Spirit of The Brave

In terms of composition, the perfume Spirit of The Brave unfolds in three successive stages:

Fresh, resinous top notes

At first, Spirit of The Brave opens with a very refreshing scent of bergamot. This citrus fruit, the result of a cross between the lemon tree and the bitter orange tree, here releases a sparkling, floral sweetness. It is this that recalls the emblematic breath of the Eaux de Cologne. Bergamot is also paired with galbanum, an ingredient from the root of a plant from Iran, known for its green, earthy scent, both striking and resinous.

A very green heart

For the heart of its perfume, Diesel focused on a greener, woodier blend. Instantly, Spirit of The Brave takes us into the depths of a Brazilian forest. To achieve this, the house relies on the combination of cypress and fir, offering an aromatic breath, much appreciated by men.

A rounder, more comforting base

Finally, still evolving in a resinous register, Spirit of The Brave ends with a rounder, warmer base. Labdanum resin here somewhat recalls the scent of toasted almond, while combining with the milky roundness of tonka bean.
