In this respect, fruits have been enjoyed for many years. Trésor by Lancôme was the forerunner, launching this new trend since the 90s. Also, among the most beloved ingredients among women, red fruits rank at the top.

What are red fruits?

Red fruits refers to a whole range of berries, drupes and false fruits. These are characterized by a color ranging from pink to dark red and even black, and reach maturity between June and October. In other words, red fruits are a summer and early autumn ingredient. Furthermore, if this is a raw material widely used by perfumers, it is simply because it allows the enchanting world of perfumery to meet the more gourmand universe of pastry-making. Strawberry

Strawberry is the fruit of the strawberry plant, a plant of the rosaceae family. It grows in many regions of the world and comes in a multitude of varieties. Gourmets swear by the gariguette, but many other strawberries are also found on our stalls. Its scent is recreated in the laboratory by combining different molecules. Most often, houses incorporate wild strawberry into their compositions. Indeed, its scent is finer, both fruity and floral.

Raspberry

Raspberry, for its part, comes from the raspberry bush, a shrub of the bramble family. Its fruit grows in temperate and Mediterranean latitudes, either cultivated or growing wild. Raspberry is mainly used in feminine creations and lends them a fruity, sweet touch. Nevertheless, it should be noted that it is not possible to extract an essential oil from it, so its scent is exclusively recreated in the laboratory, notably with raspberry ketone.

Cherry

Cherry is the fruit of the cherry tree, a tree of the rosaceae family, native to Asia Minor. Cherry is more or less red and black. It is a fruit from which it is impossible to obtain essential oil. Its scent is recreated in the laboratory, notably through the combination of different molecules such as benzaldehyde, a synthetic note with a rich and powerful character.

Redcurrant

Redcurrant is a small berry growing in clusters on the currant bush. It is a fruit related to blackcurrant but with a redder color, and sometimes even white or green. Mainly used in feminine fragrances, it lends a fruity, tangy and invigorating note recreated in the laboratory.

Blackberry

Blackberry is a black, fleshy berry, the fruit of the bramble and traditionally growing wild. It lends fragrances containing it a musky and almost woody character. As with other red fruits, its scent is recreated in the laboratory, notably from musks and other compounds with a fruity odor.
