Composed out of Zoé Coste's passion for scents from faraway places, Patchouli bursts onto the senses like a cocktail made of the most precious, yet also the most sensual, woods. Patchouli is, by its very nature, the fragrance of all lovers of hippie culture, of the mixed and free-spirited culture so representative of the 1970s.

For Patchouli L'Eau, Jacques Flori was entrusted by Nino Amaddeo and his daughter with composing a sober and gourmand daughter to Patchouli, one that would represent, as Patchouli had done in its time, the desires of today's young women and young men.

Patchouli L'Eau: patchouli becomes sweet gourmand character for Réminiscence
How could perfumer Jacques Flori manage to “lighten” such an iconic Patchouli without shaking its foundations? Quite simply by softening its tempestuous character with gourmand, even chocolate-like, notes. As he would go on to prove with the new Notes Gourmandes fragrance range, the perfumer knows how to speak in sweet notes.
Thus, Patchouli L'Eau opens on entirely new touches of mandarin and orange freshness, which immediately sets it apart from the great Patchouli, which offered from the very first moment an explosion of strong notes. Then, at the heart, balsams and resins return with softness, unfolding around a sandalwood paired with a chocolate note to striking effect. Benzoin, vanilla and labdanum lend their raw strength to these soft notes to preserve the fiery sillage of its brilliant predecessor; yet Patchouli L'Eau proves to be far more about the sweetness of hot chocolate than the animalic force of a dark wood.
