Chanel put Paris - Venise on sale in June 2018, along with Paris - Deauville and Paris - Biarritz, three eaux de toilette signed by Olivier Polge. The house describes it as a composition of shadow and light, where neroli essence brightens an ambery accord of vanilla and tonka. Persolaise hears an echo of Coco; Angela prefers it to the other two.

On July 13, 2018, Persolaise saw in the three Eaux a journey through the house’s heritage, and in Paris - Venise an immediate echo of Coco, and of Coco Noir, itself conceived for the land of the Doges. He describes a vanilla and dark woods that make the eyelids lower.
That heavier material, in his view, delivers the promised freshness less convincingly than the other two eaux. He places it among twilight scents, and credits it, for that very weight, with the most substantial base of the collection.

On August 6, 2018, Angela, of Now Smell This, singled out Paris - Venise among the three Eaux: the idea of an oriental cologne intrigued her, and the result convinced her. She likes a freshness that has nothing of the golf club locker room about it.
Orientals usually strike her as too laden with amber to refresh; this one manages it. The citrus leans toward neroli, and a hint of currant gives it the deliciousness of ambers without their sweetness.
