Althaïr

Parfums de Marly launched Althaïr at the end of summer 2023. The house, founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, draws its imagery from the eighteenth century and the court of Louis XV; it made the fragrance a modern ode to Bourbon vanilla, an ingredient it calls universal in perfumery.

It chose a vanilla from Madagascar, which it describes as a direct descendant of the vanilla introduced to France during the reign of Louis XV. Julien Sprecher, the founder and artistic director, sees in it a majestic, subtle and surprisingly fresh vanilla, at once elegant, generous and charismatic.

Two perfumers

The composition is the work of Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis, under the artistic direction of Julien Sprecher. Parfums de Marly lists it among its men’s fragrances while saying it can win over women too, and now also places it among its fragrances to share.

Althaïr has joined the house’s Iconics, alongside Layton, Delina and Valaya. It is sold in 75, 125 and 200 ml. Parfums de Marly now presents Althaïr Exclusif, a more intense version it says is inspired by Althaïr’s signature notes.
