So many renowned perfumers and designers have wondered how to create a cult fragrance, a fragrance bold enough without being off-putting, that it would become a classic. This is exactly what Claude Montana sought to do by asking Jean Guichard, already the creator of the iconic Anaïs Anaïs, to compose a fragrance that would represent the values of the Montana house while being at the cutting edge of trends.

A beautiful fragrance must provoke an emotion while conveying an era. Jean Guichard, perfumer and creator of Parfum de Peau by Montana, of Anaïs Anaïs, and also of Loulou by Cacharel.

The two men thus created Parfum de Peau and offered it as a gift to the “working girl” of 1986. For Parfum de Peau symbolizes, as Jean Guichard intended, all the opulence of the fashion of those years when shoulder pads, gilded details and neon tops sought to be as visible as possible, the very clothes that Claude Montana successfully offered with each new collection. This is, moreover, one of the reasons why this Parfum de Peau, so carnal, so sensual and captivating, so present, would long be nicknamed “the Montana fragrance” without its true identity being known...

For Parfum de Peau, Jean Guichard did not seek to be discreet or light—quite the opposite, every effect of this magnificent fragrance was calculated to be intense, deep, exaggerated, so as not to go unnoticed!

Thus Parfum de Peau opens on an icy gust of fresh notes of pepper, tagetes and ginger, better to melt into a gourmand quality of blackcurrant. Cardamom warms this coolness with its spicy power, carrying us toward the intensely floral heart of rose, narcissus and passionate tuberose. Carnation once again plays its sharp, gripping character to remind us of the dynamism of this fragrance. Finally, wild and animalic castoreum blends with notes of patchouli, musk and amber to intensify the deeply sensual depth of this intensely addictive Parfum de Peau.
