Lacoste Original Parfum Fact Sheet — The crocodile goes concentrated: sport-chic energy at 25% Forty years after the launch of the very first Lacoste juice, the house unveils Lacoste Original Parfum, a 2025 novelty and the most intense version ever offered. Formulated at 25% aromatic essence, this concentrate reinterprets the emblematic woody fougère by pushing every facet to its peak: spicier ginger-cardamom, smokier lavender-incense, more enveloping tonka-patchouli. Conceived as the pivotal moment when match adrenaline gives way to the elegance of the private locker room, it celebrates the house mantra: Play Hard, Stay Original.
Lacoste Original Parfum — The Bottle and Its Case The polo becomes a scented monolith For fourteen years, the L.12.12 range has translated into fragrance the absolute icon of the Lacoste locker room: the polo shirt invented by René Lacoste in the 1920s. For the 2025 Original Parfum version, the house keeps the soft square silhouette evoking the bust of a folded polo, but plays the density card. The side panels are thickened, the edges slightly sharper; the whole resembles a small sporty monolith, sturdy and ready to withstand the jostling of a gym bag as much as the jolts of a subway-to-office commute.
A new “Green Match” lacquer
While the first L.12.12 bottles sported a slightly translucent grass green, Lacoste here opts for a deep matte forest green lacquer. The finish evokes freshly watered grass courts at dusk: the surface delicately catches the light, yet remains dark enough to underline the parfum character (25% concentration). This matte tint contrasts with the glossy metallic collar surrounding the pump; together, they form a distinctly elegant “polo plus cufflink” duo.
A design object… and a responsible one
30% post-consumer recycled glass
Lacoste continues its CSR approach and incorporates 30% PCR glass into the bottle body. The crystal is then clarified and lacquered, to achieve chromatic depth without visible impurities.
Scratch-resistant water-based lacquer
Unlike previous solvent-based finishes, the “Green Match” lacquer relies on a water-based formula. Two superimposed layers — the first optical, the second protective — ensure resistance to scratches and fingerprints, an essential asset for athletes who slip the bottle into their bag.
Bioplastic cap and crocodile signature
The cap echoes the texture of the polo’s ribbed collar. It is molded from a sugarcane-derived bioplastic, then coated with a fine polished silver patina. On the front, an embossed crocodile in a tone-on-tone finish discreetly recalls the house’s DNA. With every opening, the light click evokes the snap button of a sporty polo — a sonic and tactile wink.
Three sizes… and a refill designed like a training canister
- 50 ml: “locker” size, ideal for the gym.
- 90 ml: the signature size for the bathroom.
- 150 ml refill: a cylinder made of 100% recycled PE, fitted with a drip-free spout and an auto-stop valve; 40 seconds are enough to fully fill the bottle while saving 65% glass and 50% plastic compared to a new bottle.
Unscrewable pump & protected thread
With a quarter turn, the pump releases; a silicone seal ensures a tight fit during refilling. A metal ring conceals the thread when the head is screwed on, preserving the bottle’s clean lines.
The case: a miniature clay court
Outer packaging
The FSC cardboard box has a “tennis grain” texture to the touch; a lighter green traces a diagonal service line, recalling the court. At the center, a white crocodile appears embossed, as if stitched onto a polo.
Inner cradle & reuse
The bottle is nestled in a molded pulp cradle tinted clay-court ocher. Once the fragrance has been used up, this support can serve as a catch-all: via a QR code, consumers are invited to turn it into a holder for used tennis balls or a pot for mini succulents.
Elegant crocodile, protected planet
Lacoste Original Parfum combines emblematic design with sustainable innovation: a recognizable polo silhouette, a new matte lacquer, PCR glass, a bioplastic cap, quick refill and a reusable case. A functional object for urban athletes, but also an ecological statement — like a crosscourt backhand: precise, powerful, all while preserving its playing field.
